Meeting up with Mr. Bond, Pierce Brosnan

Bespoken magazine had the chance to meet actor Pierce Brosnan at the most recent edition of the Mostra di Venezia film festival. Brosnan, who has always been an aficionado of fine fabrics, is a modern gentleman who is considered as a timeless icon of male elegance.

Frankfurt has over 2,3 million inhabitants (large area, 700000 for the city) and is known as the most important financial center of Germany with head offices of major banks. It is also known as the city with an important yearly book fair. It plays an important role in the European economy as it hosts the European Central Bank.

Robbie Williams in Scabal cloth

Robbie Williams is back. With "Candy" he scored a late summer hit. In the Summer of this year he will tour in Europe.

70 million albums sold, 17 BRIT awards, co-owner of football team Port Vale, and even mentioned in the Guinness Book of Records, this enfant terrible has been in the spotlight for over 20 years.

From teenage idol in Take That to respected solo artist, he proves to be a top entertainer.

At the Brit Awards Robbie wore a purple Scabal fabric 500919 of the New Deluxe bunch made by Spencer Hart (picture on the right).

He wore another suit made by A Sauvage in the fabric 500896 of the same bunch.

Spring Summer 2013 Look Book

In this 19th century house the Scabal advisors give you the best of a personalized service. On the 2nd floor of the showroom at Square de l'Opéra Louis Jouvet or at a location of your own convenience (be it your home or office) you can get assisted for your best made-to-measure outfit.

You can choose from over 5000 fabrics: from the latest fabrics bunches, the permanent collections or the special editions like Diamond Chip, Lapis Lazuli and lots more to have your suit made in the best quality. By using these services, you are able to design your own customized high-quality suits, which are made in western Europe with English savoir-faire.

Your measurements can also be taken for a made-to-measure shirt for which you can choose in over 500 fabrics.

Lagoon

Three noble fibres are combined in Scabal’s colourful jacketing bunch Lagoon. Fine Merino wool, silk and linen have been expertly blended together in a 40 :35 :25 mix for part of the Lagoon selection.

A 55 :45 linen/silk quality is an alternative in this lively yet elegant, selection of cloths specially created for the concept of “luxury casual”.

Unlined and softly tailored jackets will look superb in designs from Lagoon. Pink, light blue and beige are important highlight colours in a range that begins with semi-plains and herringbones and runs through to Glen checks, lots of windowpanes and even some madras-style checks. Den Norske Opera & Ballett

Scabal likes to dress film actors but also has a close link with opera houses.

Only recently we have blogged about Teatro Della Scala and Glyndebourne and today about another fantastic institute : Den Norske Opera & Ballett in Norway.

It was founded in 1957 by the great Norwegian soprano Kirsten Flagstad. In 2008 the new Oslo Opera House was opened. It rises like an iceberg in the harbour and is the biggest culture temple that was built offering seating to 1364 persons looking at a main stage of 16m wide and 40m deep. The total surface of the building is 38500 m2.

An order was placed for the ballet "Petrushka" of the Russian composer Igor Stravinsky, composed in 1910 and with a revised version in 1947. Fabric 702671 is a dark grey Super 100's extrafine merino wool of The Royal bunch.
