Scabal Diamond Chip new

In view of the immense demand, Scabal has decided to develop a brand-new fabric range on the “Diamond Chip” theme that was launched in 2001. The new collection comprises no less than 16 different patterns and colours.

The diamond chips are processed into the cloth as soon as the wool has been cleaned and combed. The result is a shiny thread to be woven into exceptional fabrics.

The cloth consists of a Super 150’s wool and pure silk and is being woven at Scabal’s own weaving-mill in Huddersfield (UK).

The 2009 “Diamond Chip” collection is available from April at luxury menswear stores. The fabric is packaged as befits a true jewel: in a luxury box with its own fabric label.

Business Class fabric

Light-weight fabrics, which are airy and breathe, and yet manage to repeal humidity and dirt thanks to a special type of nanotechnology are the big novelty this summer.

The “Business Class” line in two-ply yarn, which prevents creasing, is the cloth of choice for the perfect travel suit. The high-tech finish does not change the cloth's touch or appearance. This "Business Class" collection comes in a range of patterns, ranging from classic stripes and checks to unpatterned cloths for every occasion.

Scabal Tailors Dictionary
The intense satisfaction derived from the final fitting of a custom-made suit is the fruit of close co-operation between the tailor and his customer. At the heart of this teamwork : dialogue. For this reason, Bespoken and Alan Cannon Jones offer a step-by-step guide to specialist terms that will allow you to clearly communicate your needs to your tailor. In this newsletter we deal with the second part of letter F.

Fly
A cloth-covered opening to conceal a fastening, usually buttons or a zip. Most common as the front opening on a pair of trousers. The term also applies to a coat or jacket when the front buttons cannot be seen, as they are inside the fly.

Flyline
The line of the fly fastening from the centre of the fork to the top of the waistband on a pair of trousers.

Fork
The point on a pair of trousers at which the legs join.

Foreparts
The name given to the fronts of a jacket or coat. This section of the garment extends from the front edge to the side seam horizontally and from the hem to the shoulder seam vertically.
