Autumn Winter has arrived

The new model:more colour, more casual

It’s not a seismic shift, but there’s a distinct move towards casual wear in Scabal’s 2010 Autumn-Winter collection. Scabal is expanding its men’s casual-wear business. Five of the eight new winter fabrics are for jackets and trousers and there’s an exciting new line of ‘soft jackets’ in addition to cardigans and jumpers.

Colours next autumn will be just a shade brighter and greens are making a comeback. The Scabal collection features four colour themes: beige-brown and purple, blue with earl grey, green shades, and beige-cream with dark red.

Highlights in the vast amount of fabric bunches are : Gallery, St James, Flannel and Saxony, Noble House, Centurion, Corduroy

Ebizo Ichikawa wears Scabal fabric

The famous kabuki actor, Ebizo Ichikawa (32), wore a tuxedo using Scabal fabric at his wedding reception in Tokyo.

The reception was broadcasted on Japanese TV for over 2 hours. Over 1000 guests, including many vips, were invited and 150 media pro's attended. The total cost added up to 500 million yen.

Among the other celebrants were former prime ministers Mori Yoshiro (73) and Koizumi Junichiro (68), and singer Hirahara Ayaka (26), who performed her hit "Jupiter" in a live satellite hookup from Shimonoseki, where she was performing in concert. One surprise of the evening was a video of Ebizo's secret visit to Vietnam, where he dug up a ruby that was used to make a necklace for his bride, ruby being her birthstone. The reception also featured a 2m-high wedding cake.

The chosen fabric comes from the bunch "The Royal" with number 700735.
