Don Giovanni is an opera in two acts with music by Mozart and with an Italian libretto by Da Ponte. It took them four months to write this master piece and it was premièred in 1787. Although sometimes classified as comic, it blends comedy, melodrama and supernatural elements. It is the seventh most play opera in North America. A film was made in 1979 directed by Joseph Losey starring the best singers of its day: Ruggero Raimondi, Edda Moser, José van Dam, Teresa Berganza etc. The action happens in Sevilla in the 17h century. Don Giovanni wants to conquer all women that he pleases. In his search for new adventures, he fears nothing but the devine punishment lures around the corner. Scabal's customer La Griffe Mesure (Marseille and Lyon) has made all suits worn on stage for this opera performed at the Théâtre de l'Archevêché in Aix-en-Provence (France) and directed by Dmitri Tcherniakov. This Russian stage director born in 1970 in Moscow has won many awards. The French conductor Louis Langrée decided to work without partition for this opera.
